WARNING

In the past there have been incidents of the use of “Boats for Sale” in an attempted scam to launder stolen cheques. The scam operates by the purchaser forwarding the seller a large cheque, greater than the purchase price, and requesting that the cheque be banked and the balance transferred to another account using Western Union money transfer or some other means. If a seller takes this action they can be left without a boat and having to refund the full amount of the stolen cheque.  Please do not divulge any personal details (including Back Account Numbers) until you are satisfied that the contact is genuine.
