Subject: Video of 1980's Pacrim at 90 mile beach
I have loaded some 8mm footage that my Dad took of a world champs (at least I am 90% it was the world champs) on Ninety Mile Beach back in either the late 70s or early 80s. I want to add some more detail to the video description - I was wondering if you would know when this was and whether it was the first world champs, who won etc etc

Greetings Landsailors,
This year’s Guy Fawkes Blast is back at the Ohope Beach Holiday Park . The BEST place stay and sail in the bay! Love that beach!
Ohope Beach is shaped like a hockey stick, allowing a coarse to be set with both tacking and a long reach leg on every lap with lots of terrain to negotiate along the way.
This year’s format will be circuit racing on Saturday and the Ohope Beach Challenge on Sunday; a one hour long coarse race on with all the fleet sailing together (wind and safety permitting).
Social sailors; please do not sail into the designated race areas!
Steer well clear of pedestrian traffic and fishermen. The Ohope Beach and harbour entrance is a favourite fishing spot for the locals. They have right of way all the time!
OBSS sailing Rules as usual. Helmet and footwear are compulsory for all pilots and passengers at all times.
See you at Ohope.
Clem Kinnaird NZ701
OBSS President.
