Subject: Hello From Chile.
Importance: High
Hello Graham,
My name is juan Enrique Quinones, I am a landsailor from Chile.
I have been following the Ohope Web Site, and I noticed a picture of two sails ready to be sent to the sail loft.
Here in Chile we are around 10 Class 5 promo pilots. And our sails are made mainly from Polypropylene ( like de material used on the bottom of the
Camping tents!!) the sails actually works very good, these are being made by the Brazilians, now we would like to be able to build
Our own sails.
Could you give us some advise, regarding the material used? Dacron? Weight per Sqmt? Design tips, etc.?
We have been working with the software Sail Cut. From which we designed a 1 m2 sail to be used on very high winds
And it works very nicely. (it the orange sail at the right on the picture attached.)
Two of us, just came back from France, where we participate in the European Cup of Promo Class.
It was our first experience on an international event, preparing for the World Cup in Argentina next year.
You may see some pictures of our “adventures” in landsailing, including the France experience in
http://picasaweb.google.com/jeqs44
also we have a web site ( which is not too updated) www.carrovelismo.cl
If you are coming to argentina next year, I hope I could meet you.
Regards
Juan enrique
