Hey there Graham,

I was the guy you found by following the upright windsufer sail, here are some pics.

There are some at varoius stages of construction, also some from the day after I talked to you.

There was wind, good strength, worng direction, wrong tide :(.

I had a few good blasts though and can we cannot think of any improvments we would make to the design, execpt maybe shifting the sheeting point - otherwise very succesful.

The yacht is able to take any old winsurfer rig rather than fancy mast and special cut sails.

Also cheap, trialerable and fun for the whole family (John has two young ones).

We achived this be using mild steel (also cause I can't weld stainless yet) and my having the boom lash to a central post forward of the mast.

We made it 20% bigger than a blokart, and added the 'bench seat' for full family trips, and for shifing weight when needed.

We have tilt wheel steering system that uses a unversal (acythene pipe!) that puts the 'tiller' slightly to the left of the mast. This was originally only temporary but works extreamly well and is convient as the right hand is used for sail trimming.

Total cost ~$350.

If you or anyone would like to know more please feel free to contact me.

Cheers Scott
